Ultimate Edition Perks Unlock Chapter by Chapter, Plus Two Exclusive Side Missions
Detail from the pre-order press materials: Ultimate Edition content isn’t handed over in one lump at the start. Its vehicles, weapons, apparel and shop access unlock progressively as you move through the story’s chapters, and the edition includes two exclusive side missions plus five Ultimate-only shops, including the Rideout Customs vehicle shop. Still just two editions — Standard $79.99 and Ultimate $99.99 — and every pre-order gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier and a garage near Ocean Beach.
Confirmed — from Rockstar’s own pre-order materials.
The detail people keep missing: Ultimate Edition content is not handed over in a lump at the title screen. Its vehicles, weapons, apparel and shop access unlock progressively as you move through the story’s chapters. If you buy Ultimate expecting a garage full of cars in hour one, that is not what you are buying.
The edition also carries two exclusive side missions that Standard does not get.
Everything above is Rockstar’s description of its own product. Whether chapter-gating is generous or stingy is a judgement we are leaving to you — our job here is to make sure you know it works that way before you spend $99.99.
Corrected September 19, 2026: the itemised list is sourced to Rockstar’s own Ultimate Edition page rather than to a fan aggregator. No facts changed.
