The Subpoena Doesn’t Stop at the Leaker — It Asks for Everyone in Three Named Discord Servers
Take-Two’s court order does not just seek CyberLeek. The filings ask for identifying data for all accounts that were members of three named Discord servers — registration emails, IP addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers and linked Xbox and Google accounts. One of the named servers belongs to DarkViperAU’s editors, and he says nobody contacted him. Compliance is due September 4.
The subpoenas have been reported for days. The scope of them is the part worth reading twice, and it is the part that affects ordinary people rather than the leaker.
The filing does not ask only for records tied to the CyberLeek accounts. The filings ask for “all identifying information associated with all user accounts that are/were members” of three servers — Ødyssey.gg, ‘! Odyssey’ and the DarkViperAU editors’ server — plus the accounts CYBERLEEK, CINEMATICROCKSTAR and Surfer24k.
What “identifying information” covers, per the filing: registration emails, IP addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers, linked Xbox and Google accounts, and OneDrive content related to GTA. Membership going back to June 1. Microsoft is asked separately for the records of its own internal investigation into the persona, plus data tied to a GitHub repository.
Streamer Matthew “DarkViperAU” Judge said publicly that he was confused to be named at all, that he knows nothing about it, and that Rockstar has not contacted him directly.
Discord told Variety it “review[s] and compl[ies] with valid subpoenas when we receive them”.
Why we are covering the scope rather than the drama: if you were in one of those servers in June, reading, you are inside the request. Not accused of anything, not a defendant — but your registration email and IP are in a document with a compliance deadline of September 4. That is worth knowing whether or not you care who CyberLeek is.
Our position on the leaks themselves is unchanged: we do not host, embed or link the footage, and we never will. We report on the reporting, and we cite it.
