The Road to Release — How GTA 6 Slipped From 2025 to November 2026
Trailer 1 promised a 2025 window. After 500+ days of near-silence, Rockstar confirmed the first delay to May 26, 2026 (and dropped Trailer 2). A second delay then pushed it six months further to the final date: Thursday, November 19, 2026 — mirroring Red Dead Redemption 2, which also slipped twice.
Confirmed — every date below was announced by Rockstar itself.
December 2023: Trailer 1 lands with a 2025 window.
May 2025: after more than 500 days of near-silence, Rockstar confirms the first delay — to May 26, 2026 — and drops Trailer 2.
Then a second delay pushes it six months further, to the date that has held ever since: Thursday, November 19, 2026.
For what it is worth as precedent rather than prediction: Red Dead Redemption 2 slipped twice as well and then shipped on its third date. GTA VI is now on its third date.
