The Extended Look by the Numbers: 31.1 Million Netflix Views, 100,000 Sign-Ups, UK Consoles Up a Third
Netflix’s own chart counted 31.1 million views in four days, No. 1 in 87 of 93 countries. Ampere estimates 100,000+ US sign-ups in the six-hour exclusive window, and NielsenIQ saw UK PS5 sales up 33% and Xbox up 34%.

Netflix. Its weekly Top 10 for August 27–30 put the Extended Look at 31.1 million views, the most-viewed title of the week and No. 1 on the English-language film list in 87 of 93 countries. A Netflix “view” is hours watched divided by runtime, so it is not comparable with YouTube, where Rockstar’s upload had passed 17 million.
Ampere Analysis estimates more than 100,000 US sign-ups during the six-hour exclusive window on August 27 — Netflix’s third-largest US spike of 2026 — and says over 5% of members who had not used Netflix for 30 days came back to watch it first. “More than 100,000 sign-ups from a six-hour exclusive window shows the pulling power of a major gaming event,” said Ampere’s Louise Wooldridge.
UK hardware. NielsenIQ data reported by The Game Business shows PS5 sales up 33% and Xbox Series up 34% week on week. That is an association with the showcase, not proof it caused every sale — and it follows UK hardware running 14.4% down year on year through July.
